Cycling in Cuijk, North Brabant, The Netherlands
Cycling route 1194881
Provided by: route.nl
Your cycling route starts at IJs & Spijs in Haps, one of the best ice cream parlors in the Netherlands. And that in a tiny village in Brabant! In Haps you can see the neo-Gothic Saint Nicholas Church from 1899. Further on you pass the Mariamolen, a monumental hexagonal flour mill from 1802. After that, the Saint Martin Church and the solitary medieval church tower of Cuijk come closer and closer. Cycling along the Maas is wonderful. In the eighteenth century, fishermen complained that their nets got caught on objects at the bottom of the Meuse: this turned out to be a Roman bridge. Here you will also find the unique Maasheggen landscape with its ancient oaks and hawthorns. You cycle back through a succession of nature reserves. In the Sint Anthonisbos it is a quiet drive between Scots pines and deciduous trees.
Pay attention; at the starting point you can use the parking lot on the church square (80/90 places).
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
