Cuijk, North Brabant, The Netherlands
Cycling route: 1194881
Provided by: route.nl
Your cycle route starts at IJs & Spijs in Haps, one of the best ice cream parlours in the Netherlands. And that in a tiny village in Brabant! In Haps you will see the neo-Gothic St Nicholas Church from 1899. Further on you will pass the Mariamolen, a monumental hexagonal corn mill from 1802. Then the St Martinus Church and the solitary medieval church tower of Cuijk come ever closer. It is wonderful to cycle along the Maas. In the eighteenth century fishermen complained that their nets got caught here on objects on the bottom of the Maas: this turned out to be a Roman bridge. You will also find the unique Maasheggen landscape here with its centuries-old oaks and hawthorns. You cycle back via a series of nature reserves. In the Sint Anthonisbos it is quiet cycling between Scots pines and deciduous trees.
Please note: at the starting point you can use the car park on the church square (80/90 spaces).
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
