Description

Your walk starts at the water of Willemstad. Willemstad is a former fortified city, thanks to the many monumental buildings you get a beautiful glimpse into the past. The Mauritshuis dates back to 1623, the Koepelkerk was completed in 1607. You also walk a bit over the historical fortifications. In the countryside you can still see many characteristic old farms. At the crossroads of North Brabant, South Holland and Zeeland lies the 12 hectare large and atmospheric Fort Sabina. Fort Sabina is part of the Zuider Waterlinie. Special features of this fort are the Tour Modèle from the time of Napoleon, the underground passages and the large barracks. There is a lunchroom and a terrace, where you can go when you are thirsty and hungry. Perfect for lunch!
