City walk Willemstad and Fort Sabina

Your walk starts at the water of Willemstad. Willemstad is a former fortified city, thanks to the many monumental buildings you get a nice glimpse into the past. The Mauritshuis dates from 1623, the Koepelkerk was completed in 1607. You can also walk a bit over the historic fortifications. In the countryside you can still see many characteristic old farms. The 12-hectare and attractive Fort Sabina is located at the crossroads of North Brabant, South Holland and Zeeland. Fort Sabina is part of the Zuider Waterlinie. Special features of this fort are the Tour Modèle from the time of Napoleon, the underground passages and the large barracks. There is a lunchroom and a terrace, where you can go if you are thirsty or have a small appetite. Perfect for lunch!
