Your cycling route starts at the cozy family hotel De Gentsche Poort. It is located in Biervliet, a rural village in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, near the Western Scheldt. You will see some monumental buildings, such as the nineteenth-century town hall and the beautiful village church from 1659. The church has a number of stained glass windows from the seventeenth century. Nearby you will discover nature reserve De Braakman. The associated creek was created by a number of storm tides in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. Now you cycle here through a nature reserve with deciduous forests and flowery meadows. From here you make a nice trip to Philippine, where you can eat delicious mussels. Perfect for lunch! Via Boekhoute you cycle to IJzendijke with its historic Market. In this village you can visit Museum het Bolwerk, across the State-Spanish lines.
