Your cycling route starts at the cozy family hotel De Gentsche Poort. It is located in Biervliet, a rural village in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, near the Western Scheldt. You will see some monumental buildings, such as the nineteenth-century town hall and the beautiful village church from 1659. The church has a number of stained glass windows from the seventeenth century. Nearby you will discover nature reserve De Braakman. The associated creek was created by a number of storm tides in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. Now you cycle here through a nature reserve with deciduous forests and flowery meadows.
