Vechtdal Castle Route from Dalfsen

Your route starts at Hotel and Restaurant De Barones. Dalfsen is also known as the Landgoederendrop, and on your bike you will soon find out why! Huize De Leemcule is a manor that has existed since 1434. De Ruitenborgh has been an important manor in the form of a castle since 1320. Huize Den Berg is an old manor, which has been owned by various noble families since 1483. Judgeen Castle is the only one of the medieval castles in Overijssel of which important parts have survived despite many sieges, dismantling and major renovations, namely the tower and the residential wing. Just before the end of the route you pass a lookout tower for a wide and beautiful view towards the Vechtdal and the wooded landscape on the Vecht.
