Tour of Luttenberg, Nijverdal and Hellendoorn

Your route starts at Recreatiebedrijf De Huttert. From here you cross to the beautiful Reggedal, which you follow past Hellendoorn. You drive through the Salland scenic landscape on quiet roads. Nijverdal is the only place in the Netherlands where gold has ever been mined - an official concession has even been granted for this. You will soon reach the forests of Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park. You make a climb through the large heathland that lies in the middle of this nature reserve, between the Haarlerberg and Sprengenberg. From the saddle you have a beautiful view over the heathland, and with a bit of luck you will come across the herd of sheep that graze this area. Finally, you drive to Luttenberg. At junction 29 you will see a Marian grotto from 1915.
