Tour of the Veluwe from Heerde

This beautiful route has two faces. You cycle a long way through the woods of the Veluwe, but also experience the vastness of the IJssel valley. Your route starts in the nice village of Heerde. First enjoy a cup of coffee at Restaurant-Snackbar-Partyservice De Spikke. Then you drive straight onto the Veluwe. You can enjoy many kilometers of a varied landscape of coniferous forest and avenues bordered by oaks and beeches. Occasionally you have views of meadows and farms. The deeper you drive into the forest, the quieter it gets. You cross nature reserves and former estates: Majuba, De Deelen, the Zwolse Bos and Landgoed Petrea. Via Wapenveld you cycle back to Heerde with its beautiful old village centre. Here you pass the monumental Johanneskerk with its beautiful tower.
