Tour of the fortifications near Willemstad

Your bike tour starts at the water of Willemstad, which takes you along the water of, among others, the Hollandsch Diep. Willemstad is a former fortified city, thanks to the many monumental buildings you get a nice glimpse into the past. The Mauritshuis dates back to 1623. On the edge of Klundert you can see some sixteenth-century defenses. Then follow the Dintel back towards Willemstad. The 12 hectare large and attractive Fort Sabina is located at the crossroads of North Brabant, South Holland and Zeeland. Fort Sabina is part of the Zuider Waterlinie. Special features of this fort are the Tour Modèle from the time of Napoleon, the underground passages and the large barracks. There is a lunchroom and a terrace, where you can go if you are thirsty or have a small appetite.
