Description

The Utrechtse Heuvelrug is best known for its leafy forests, heaths and sand drifts. But did you know that De Utrechtse Heuvelrug is also a National Park and partly because of that, it houses relatively clean (and quiet) nature? Recharge in nature and discover, in addition to the fact that it is healthy to cycle in clean air, the cultural heritage. A series of eccentric country estates and castles with beautifully landscaped gardens and parks run along the southern flank of the Heuvelrug. In addition to these stylish country houses, the route takes you along winding paths, through picturesque villages, dense forests and beautiful dune and heath areas. A surprising and original route to get acquainted with the diversity of the Heuvelrug.Fuck your eyesThis route is a large collection of beautiful sights. Get off your bike and take a walk on the winding paths of the Heidetuin. There are so many types of heather here that there is always something in bloom. A little further on you can relax at the Landgoed Kraaybeekerhof and if you cycle a little further you can admire the Buitenplaats Sparrendaal. You then cycle a bit through Driebergen-Rijsenburg to the historic vegetable garden Bartiméus. This vegetable garden belongs to the care institution Bartiméus and you will find a rosarium, greenhouses and a tea house here. A real must to visit during your trip. You then cycle on to Doorn, where you can visit Museum Huis Doorn. The museum focuses on the history of the Netherlands during the First World War. End your tour in a cozy atmosphere. Other places of interest on the route are Landhuis Darthuizen, Amerongen Castle and Zwerfsteneneiland. The starting point of this route is Chalet Little Switzerland. Here you can enjoy a tasty snack and a drink. The jewel of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug The most beautiful sight on this route is without a doubt Amerongen Castle. This castle is sometimes called the most beautiful Dutch castle from the Golden Age. From the outside and inside, this castle still exudes the atmosphere of yesteryear. Take a look at the lives of the former residents, including the Strong Women who lived in't Huys and their eccentric interior. But be sure to take a walk through the beautiful castle garden where you can have a fantastic picnic in the summer.
