Zundert, Klein-Eisel and Meersel

The conifers change into the Strijbeekse Heide. The estate belonged to Thorn Abbey until the eighteenth century. In 1904, the steward's house was converted into an impressive mansion, which was called'the Castle of Elsakker\\\'. The cycling tour, which departs from the parking lot in Zundert, also leads you to Bigtelaar in the municipality of Rijsbergen. Here you see a beautiful old farmhouse that has been well preserved. The farm was built in 1708 as the property of the Order of Godshuizen in Antwerp, but partially burned down in 1920. The old farm was restored to its former glory on its original foundations. A judge from Breda bought the old farm in the twentieth century, since then the monumental building has been privately owned.
