Drenthe is a province with many faces. Extensive forests and heaths are the order of the day here. The most beautiful sight in the Esdorp is undoubtedly the former windmill'De Vlijt\\\'. The oak, octagonal belt mill from 1878 was used to grind grain, but was dismantled in 2004. To get the mill working again, it must therefore be thoroughly restored. The surroundings of the picturesque village is a beautiful area. There is a lot of green in the oasis of peace, but there are also many meadows. Your bike ride also takes you past ancient burial mounds. Centuries ago, people buried some of the dead in or under burial mounds, which are protected by the monument law. Each of the hills, where the dead were laid to rest, are registered on the list of archaeological monuments.
