Description

The fanatic cyclist and history lover will enjoy this route, which is no less than 66 kilometers long. You wind along the Linge and the Merwede Canal. These are two of the most important historical waterways in Dutch history. The route takes you along a part of the New Dutch Waterline; an old defense line that was once flooded to protect the Netherlands from enemy troops.

Admire historical gems
This cycle route takes you along the Maas and various villages and towns through an area that houses over 600 years of history. The tour leads past old mills, historic forts and beautiful nature reserves as you cycle from Gorinchem to Werkendam and back via Leerdam. You can park your car in the free car park in Gorinchem.
