Cycling past Vierhouten, Vaassen and Epe

In the Netherlands, there is no nature reserve as famous and grand as the Veluwe. The landscapes hidden within the national park are impressive: vast grasslands and heathlands give way to shifting sands or forests, including on the Vierhoutense Heide and the Elspeetse Heide. This route introduces you to this area. You start at Fietsverhuur Hazeleger, where you can rent a bicycle or have yours repaired. Afterwards, you cycle on to Vaassen. Here you will pass Cannenburch Castle and the Cannenburger Mill. The sixteenth-century castle was built on the remains of an earlier castle; traces of this former home can still be seen in the cellar. Via Elspeet, you cycle back to Vierhouten.
