Description
On this cycle route you will explore the beach from Hoek van Holland to Maasluis and the coastal area up to Vlaardingen. It is the ultimate opportunity to blow away the cobwebs and get to know the pleasant seaside resorts of South Holland. Hoek van Holland in particular is known for its beautiful waters and nature and dune areas. This cycle route will take you past the Fort aan den Hoek van Holland, which was built in 1881. The fortress was intended to protect the Nieuwe Waterweg from enemy fleets. Although the Netherlands remained neutral during the First World War, the fortress was made ready for battle.
