You will find plenty of variety in the Vierhouter Bos. Because the best trunks for wood were felled here for centuries, the irregular oak trees remained standing. You will also see majestic beech trees that are more than 200 years old. In the middle of the forest is the Hidden Village, a hiding place from 1943. About eighty refugees were hidden here for more than a year. At Vaassen you will pass historical places. The sixteenth-century Castle de Cannenburgh was built on the remains of an earlier, probably fourteenth-century castle. Nearby is the wonderfully authentic hamlet of Niersen, a typical Veluwe ash or enk settlement. Niersen is very old, it is first mentioned around 1335 as the'marka Niirsen\\\'. Take a break at Pannenkoekenhuis De Boskabouter! You cycle back via Elspeet and the Veluwe forests.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
