From the Sallandse Heuvelrug to the Herikerberg

Fancy a nice and varied day of cycling? Then jump on the saddle for this route over the Sallandse Heuvelrug and through the area around Markelo. From the TOP you immediately cycle into the forests of the Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park. Here you can fully enjoy the fresh air and the whistling birds. After a while you cycle through the heart of Rijssen. Here you can view the Schildkerk, among other things. The oldest parts of this building date back to the twelfth century. From Rijssen you cycle through the Borkeld nature reserve. In the forest on the Herikerberg you can get off for a meal at Landhuishotel and Bistro Herikerberg. Further on you cycle through Stokkum, a picturesque hamlet with several old Saxon farms. Via Holten you cycle back to the starting point.
