Description

The cycle route leads you to the Zwiepse Molen. The octagonal windmill was placed in 1851 on the Zwiepse Berg near Barchem. Due to the poor windage, the tower mill was moved several times until it was given its current destination in 1880. The mill is equipped for grinding grain and a volunteer miller still works there. On the eastern edge of Lochem you will pass De Cloese Castle. The house dates from 1520, but has undergone a major metamorphosis three times in its history. The site on which De Cloese was built was owned by the Ter Cluses family in Reyneringh. It is therefore not difficult to guess where the house gets its name from!
