Round Loosdrecht

Farm Camping Doornenbal is located on the Loosdrechtse Plassen. An oasis of peace, right between Amsterdam and Utrecht. You start this cycling tour around the Loosdrechtse Plassen from here. This area is characterized by the New Dutch Waterline. A total of 46 forts were built from the eighteenth century to defend the Netherlands. Many of those beautiful fortresses and fortified towns can be found in this wetland area. On this cycle route, straight through Het Groene Hart, you cycle past the nineteenth-century Fort Tienhoven, for example. The Loosdrechtse Plassen are also well-known terrain for water sports enthusiasts. The lakes are connected to the river Amstel and were created by the extraction of peat. After about thirty kilometers around the lakes, you will arrive at Farm Camping Doornenbal. Time to relax!
