Description

Your cycling route starts at the MON Chouette tea house. From junction 86 you drive a bit along the Valleikanaal, a watercourse that formed an important part of the Grebbe Line. You can still see some old casemates in the landscape. You pass the Woudenberg Water Tower: a monument from 1937 that was built in Art Deco style. Then you drive on car-free roads through the polder. Get some fresh air while enjoying the peace and quiet. You cycle through Maarn, a beautiful garden village. Then you drive onto the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Here you will pass Huize't Stort, a country estate from 1903. In the woods it is wonderful to cycle along stately avenues and winding paths. You will also come across Den Treek, an originally medieval estate with a beautiful nineteenth-century farm and gamekeeper's house.
