Along the mills of Menameradiel

!This route includes a ferry crossing! Those who love windmills and landscape will be delighted with this cycle route. Picturesque places and landscapes complement and complement each other. With the ever beautiful views of the villages of the municipality of Menameradiel, you will become acquainted with the clay soils and the rich history that this area has. The start of the route starts at the carpool place near Marsum (A31/N383). You will see mill Terpzigt a stone's throw away. Cross the roundabout and cycle towards Aldlan. You cycle through this green polder towards the van Harinxsma canal. When you arrive here, you will see the American wind engine Heechhiem to the west of the village of Deinum. Then you continue and you arrive at De Puollen and then head towards Dronrijp. There is also a war memorial on the bridge of Dronrijp. From here you continue towards the Hatsumer mill and mill Kingmatille. From here you can cross with a ferry to continue the route. NB! The ferry does not operate in the winter months. When you pass the Rentmeester you enter the main town of the municipality of Menameradiel, Menaam. Here you can do some shopping or take a breather at the waterfront next to the supermarket. Then you go towards windmill de Kievit. After this you go through the green land again. Watch out when crossing! In the distance you can already see the Marssumer windmill. From here you cycle back to the start of this tour.
