A day out on the Veluwe

Your route starts at Hotel Restaurant De Vossenberg. From Vierhouten you cycle straight into nature. Then you cross various forests on the Veluwe. This is a wonderful cycling area, because you will find plenty of peace and quiet between the deciduous and coniferous trees. Around't Harde you see the fields on one side of the road, on the other side are the forests. After you have cycled many kilometres through the forests again, you come to the Wisselse Veen around junction 63. Here you see the heathland gradually change into a marshy swamp area with lots of open water, streams and ditches. The poor grasslands form a treasure trove of valuable plants. Finally, you cycle past the Gortelse Heide near Gortel: what beautiful views!
