Description
The Veen Route is a journey into the past of this German-Dutch border region. A region where just a few generations ago landowners fought each other over territorial issues. There were always arguments about the border. Border treaties had to be negotiated to calm things down. These treaties brought changes for the people who lived here. From that moment on, the national border was marked with border posts for more than 200 years.
Boundary posts and stones in all kinds of shapes still show how the border - which has now virtually lost its meaning - used to be.
