Poortvliet, Stavenisse and Annaland

You can get a breath of fresh air on the island of Tholen in Zeeland. The entire island is sparsely populated and fields and meadows stretch between the hamlets. You start at the De Korenaar mill in Poortvliet. You get on your bike and cycle along the Oosterschelde, with a beautiful view of the water, towards Sint-Maartensdijk. To do this you pass through the Pluimpot nature reserve. In Stavenisse you pass the Stavenisse mill. The mill was built in 1801 as a replacement for a fallen post mill. In Sint-Annaland you can get off and rest at Brasserie De Deu-braek. Enjoy a snack and drink and be surprised by the varied menu. You deserve that! Then it is time to cross the island and cycle through the vast fields back to Poortvliet.
