Cycling through the Vechtdal near Ommen

Your route starts at Camperplaats De Ruitenborgh. The Overijssel Vechtdal valley seems to have been created specifically for cyclists. You'll cycle along quiet paths past flower-filled meadows and old hedgerows. In some places, you can stop and admire the rippling waters of the Vecht River, such as in Ommen. At junction 8, you'll pass De Stokte. From the top of this twenty-meter-high observation tower, you'll have a magnificent view of the Vecht Valley. Further on, you'll cycle through the fragrant coniferous forests of the Diffelerveld, after which you'll cross the Vecht River to the vast forests of the Beerzerzand and the Junnerbelten. Be sure to stop at the Molnmarsch tourist water retention area! Just below Ommen, you'll pass De Konijnenbelt: a former grain mill dating from 1806. In picturesque Vilsteren, you'll see many beautiful houses and farms.
