Cycling through the Vechtdal near Ommen

Your route starts at Camperplaats De Ruitenborgh. The Vechtdal in Overijssel seems to have been specially designed for cyclists. You cycle along quiet paths past flowery meadows and old hedgerows. In some places you can get off and watch the rippling water of the Vecht, such as in Ommen. At junction 8 you pass De Stokte. From the top of this twenty-metre-high lookout tower you have a beautiful view over the Vechtdal. Further on you cycle between the fragrant coniferous forests of the Diffelerveld, after which you cross the Vecht to the vast forests of the Beerzerzand and the Junnerbelten. Be sure to get off at the tourist water storage Molnmarsch! Just below Ommen you pass De Konijnenbelt: a former corn mill from 1806. In picturesque Vilsteren you will see many beautiful houses and farms.
