Schagen, North Holland, The Netherlands
Cycling route: 116000
Provided by: Gemeente Hollands Kroon
In the upper part of North Holland you will find a beautiful flat landscape between and behind wide sandy ridges and extensive dunes. Green meadows, fields and bulb fields alternate here. The route starts at Automuseum Schagen, where you can admire all kinds of old cars from Europe and America, but there are also typical Dutch Dafjes. From Schagen you cycle to Anna Pavlovna. On the way you will pass the Leonide mill. This mill looks like a traditional mill, but it never had a grinding function. From Anna Paulowna you cycle in the direction of Julianadorp and the Amstelmeer. Originally, this lake formed a transition between the Waddenzee and the Zuiderzee.
From April 1 to October 31, Automuseum Schagen is open every Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Also on Thursdays in July and August.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
