Schagen, North Holland, The Netherlands
Cycling route: 116000
Provided by: Gemeente Hollands Kroon
In the upper part of North Holland you will find a beautiful flat landscape between and behind wide sand ridges and vast dunes. Green meadows, fields and bulb fields alternate here. The route starts at Automuseum Schagen, where you can admire all kinds of old cars from Europe and America, but there are also typical Dutch Dafs. From Schagen you cycle to Anna Paulowna. On the way you will pass the Leonide mill. This mill looks like a traditional mill, but it has never had a grinding function. From Anna Paulowna you cycle towards Julianadorp and the Amstelmeer. Originally, this lake formed a transition between the Wadden Sea and the Zuiderzee.
From 1 April to 31 October, Automuseum Schagen is open every Sunday from 13:00 to 16:00. In July and August also on Thursdays.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
