Around the Gooimeer: Huizen, Almere and Naarden

From the starting point you cycle via the nice old Huizen to the other side of the Gooimeer. There are many romantic, secret places to be found in the city forests of Almere. The trees are so tall that they seem centuries old, but that is not the case: the polder forests were only created in the second half of the twentieth century. You continue your journey and cross the water again near Muiderberg. Near Naarden you will see Fort Ronduit, part of the New Dutch Waterline. It was built between 1873 and 1875 on the remains of an older defense structure to defend the land outside the dike that stretched north of Naarden.
