Blow out in the polders of Alkmaar

This route takes you through the landscape of expansive polders north of Alkmaar. Enjoy the lively atmosphere of Alkmaar and then cycle into the tranquility of the surrounding area. The best of both worlds in one route. You start the route in Schagen at the Vreeburg Farm and Carriage Museum. Take a look inside this 17th-century city farm. Then, cycle to Dirkshorn, Tuitjenhorn, and Alkmaar. Alkmaar is known for its cheese market and you'll also find charming streets, narrow courtyards, beautiful canals, and a beautiful historic center. You'll cycle primarily through the north of Alkmaar, but you can always deviate from the route to explore Alkmaar further. Then, cycle back via Waarland and Haringhuizen.
