Along Markermeer and IJsselmeer

Your route starts at Fruitkwekerij't Keetje. Here you can buy something tasty to put in your bicycle bag, so that you can eat or drink something along the way, with a beautiful view over the water. You cycle along the banks of the Markermeer, which is 700 square kilometers in size. The Markermeer is located between North Holland, Flevoland and the IJsselmeer. The Markermeer was actually going to be reclaimed, but because it is an important attraction for birds, that plan met with a lot of resistance. Now the Markermeer attracts many water (sports) enthusiasts. You will encounter nice sights in Enkhuizen. The Frisian bell tower is twenty meters high and was built in 1519. The tower was actually crooked, but by cladding the outside with wood it now looks as if it is standing straight!
