Description

There is a lot of cultural history to discover in Central Limburg. Like in Wessem, a former fortified town on the Maas. In the forests it is still wonderfully quiet cycling here.

Maas You cycle along the Polderveld, one of the many Maasplassen. In Heel you can, among other things, take a look at Kasteel Nederhoven, in Beegden you pass the Sint Lindert, a beautiful corn mill from 1790. In the forests of the Beegderheide and the Exatenbosch it is wonderfully quiet. Enjoy!

Wessem In Baexem you pass the Aurora, a beautiful mill from 1845. You then drive along country roads to Grathem. Here you will see the next sight: the Grathemermolen from 1874. A little further on is Kasteel Groot Buggenum, whose history dates back to the fifteenth century. The current hunting lodge in Maasland Renaissance style was built in 1889. Finally, you drive through Wessem, the old town that enjoys a protected cityscape because of its many monumental buildings. What a nice historical atmosphere you experience here!
