Description
Your route starts at Hotel de Plank. The Groenendaalsmolen is a corn mill that used to grind on the water of the Gulp near Euverem. After the mill was converted into a house, it no longer grinds. The mill originally belonged to Groenendael Castle, from 1775, of which only the foundations remain. The Neubourgermolen is another beautiful water mill. This was built in 1712 to grind paper. It ground clothing into pulp, from which paper was made by hand. You cycle a long way through the beautiful Limburg nature of the Vijlenerbosch, the most elongated forest in the Netherlands. You also take in a bit of foreign country when you pass Vaals and Teuven. Here you get the idea that you are very far from home.
