Cycling around Blauwestad

Cycling around the water! Your route also leads you through Nieuw Scheemda with the beautiful Dutch Reformed Church and the Winschoter windmills.

You cycle via Nieuwolda and the village of Wagenborgen to the small church village of Nieuw Scheemda. If you want to visit the Dutch Reformed Church in this hamlet, you can visit the key addresses. The Dutch Reformed Church has a facade with glazed bricks. The entire decor is authentic. Against the east wall is a pulpit and next to it hangs a whip to chase dogs out of the church.

Winschoter mills
Molen Berg is a tower mill that was built in 1854 in Winschoten. It is a corn and hulling mill, where a hippie-like youth center was located in the 1970s:'Stone Free\\\'. Molen Dijkstra is a tower mill from the same time. It is the largest of the three impressive Winschoter windmills. Molen Edens is the third and last of the three Winschoter windmills and dates from 1763. Various renovations have given the mill a remarkable appearance.
