In the Biesbosch National Park you can take a bike ride through the watery and unspoilt nature. You cross the Nieuwe Merwede to also explore the Dutch part of this nature reserve.
Fort Steurgat
From Brasserie De Selevia Hoeve you first drive to the Steurgat, a watercourse where you see numerous pleasure boats sailing in the summer. Further away is Fort Steurgat: the southernmost fort of the New Dutch Waterline. This fort was built in 1881 and served to close the Nieuwe Merwede and the Steurgat.
Waxing Moon
Just past junction 4 you pass the Wassende Maan. Climb the hill to discover this work of art. The Biesbosch Museum is a nice stop: you can learn more about the history and development of this freshwater area. You cycle back through the polder to Brasserie De Selevia Hoeve.
Check the website for the sailing schedule of the Steur ferry.
