A beautiful Schouwen-Duiveland route

Schouwen-Duiveland is a real Zeeland cycling gem. Get on the saddle for a tour along old country estates, churches and the banks of the Oosterschelde.

Haamstede Castle
From Bike Totaal Verton you drive through Burgh-Haamstede. Here you see, among other things, the Graanhalm, a corn mill from 1847. Further on you pass the unfinished church of Haamstede. Then you can take a look at Slot Haamstede, a national monument that originally dates from the thirteenth century.

Plompetoren
Through the nature reserve de Vroongronden you cycle to Renesse, a centuries-old ring village around the sixteenth-century Jacobuskerk. You pass the beautiful Slot Moermond. This castle originally dates from the thirteenth century.'t Huys Grol is a former country estate whose history dates back to 1599. Further on you pass WV Scharendijke, a pleasant marina. Through the vast polders you cycle to the Oosterschelde.
