Up the farmer

During this varied tour you cycle from low to high. First through an open environment where meadows and country estates predominate; they are interspersed with canals, groves and farms. But beyond Doorn it goes steeply up through the woods of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Suddenly a completely different landscape! During this route we pass two beautiful castles, namely the Sterkenburg and Moersbergen. Castle Moersbergen is for sale. The current castle was built in 1435. It has been renovated several times since the 16th century. In the 18th century, the Utrecht architect Samuel Adrianus van Lunteren renovated the castle according to the fashion of the time. Moersbergen Castle was thoroughly restored in 1927 and restored to the Dutch Renaissance style. Along the way you will pass various farm addresses, where fresh products from the country are for sale. Try a homemade ice cream, a piece of farmer's cheese or settle down on a farmer's terrace with a beautiful view. When planning your trip, keep in mind the limited opening hours of the farms.
