Description

Hoorn has a lot to offer cyclists. In this old town you will see many beautiful buildings. You also drive through Blokker, an old village that now borders Hoorn. Here you will see some monumental bell-shaped farmhouses, such as the Good Samaritan from 1659. Further on you will pass the Krijgsman Windmill: its two predecessors died due to wind and lightning. In the countryside, the bulb fields are in bloom during spring and summer, so you cycle through a colorful mosaic. You pass through some charming villages, after which you drive over the dike along the Markermeer to Schellinkhout. Just before Hoorn you pass the seventeenth-century Groote Molen. In the harbor you can see the Oostereiland: the former prison is now a museum. The route ends at Camperplaats and Jachthaven de Grashaven.
