Description
In the Groote Peel you experience nature at its best: without infrastructure that disfigures the environment. Around this national park it is wonderful to cycle through the rural area with its beautiful villages.
Downside
Further on you pass through the forests of the Marisberg, the highest point of the Peel. You drive through Neerkant, after which you cycle on car-free roads past meadows and fields. It will take little effort for you to switch back here and relax.
Big Peel
You can get off at junction 5 and walk a short distance into the Groote Peel. Peat used to be cut here and you can still see that in the landscape. Here you will find ponds, small peat wells and peeling canals. From a lookout tower you have a beautiful view of the unspoilt landscape. Then you cycle to Panningen and Koningslust, surrounded by forests. What a beautiful region!
