During this route you will get to know the well-known and lesser-known sights around The Hague. In the meantime you can enjoy the beautiful landscape. We start the route at Pavilion Malieveld. This legendary place is known for the many demonstrations. Today the Malieveld also serves as a place where military parades (a tradition of about 400 years), fairs and festivals take place. The largest mass demonstration counted 550,000 demonstrators. It was held on October 29, 1983 and was directed against the deployment of new nuclear weapons in the Netherlands. Paviljoen Malieveld has been located in Malieveld in The Hague since 1941 and is known in The Hague and far beyond for its delicious poffertjes, pancakes and Old Dutch waffles. The menu contains more than 20 different pancakes and other combinations are prepared by the cook on request. At pleasant temperatures, the terrace is furnished, and you can enjoy a snack or a drink outside. Our pavilion has a conservatory all around, so you can enjoy a ray of sun even on cooler days. The Haagse Bos is located north of the center of The Hague. This was the former hunting domain of the Counts of Holland. Huis ten Bosch Palace, which has been the residential palace of Queen Beatrix for many years, is located in the Haagse Bos. You will also pass a series of estates and castles along the way. Oud-Wassenaar Castle is one of these and was built in 1876-1879 for William III's equerry. After his death, the castle became a hotel and a number of important foreign guests have stayed here. Nice to visit: The Hague The Hague is a combination of culture, beach, history and relaxation. You can visit one of the museums, enjoy a breath of fresh air on the beach of Scheveningen or go shopping in one of the shopping streets. Royal Estates De Horsten Landgoed de Horsten consists of three parts, Raaphorst, Ter Horst and Eikenhorst. The Tea Pavilion De Horsten is located in the Horsten, where you can enjoy a snack and drink. The tea pavilion was the former hunting lodge of Prince Frederik. The shooting house, as it used to be called, dates from 1861, is octagonal in shape. After a visit to the Horsten you will cycle past Backershagen. A high hill hidden in the green, the tea dome of Backershagen. The building from 1770 is also called the'mysterious dome\\\'. Further on you will see the white Backershagen House. This house has the same shape as the house dating from around 1730, which served as a country house for Cornelis Backer, Alderman of Amsterdam. The last part of the route goes through the residential area of Marlot, mostly built in the style of the New Hague School. The beautiful park Marlot borders the Haagse Bos. You can see the dome and the back of Huis ten Bosch Palace through the trees. This cycling route is offered to you by The Hague Marketing. For more information about this region, visit
