Discover the nature around Huijbergen

On the border of Zeeland and North Brabant lies the Wouwse Plantage estate, near the village of the same name, which in Brabant is also called"De Pin\\\" or"Pindorp\\\". The Wouwse Plantage is one of the most beautiful forest areas in the Netherlands. The estate has many coniferous forests, while in the north the land has been made suitable for agriculture. It is also one of the youngest estates in the Netherlands and was built in the 16th century. The estate consists mainly of nature; there is therefore little construction. The buildings that are there seem untouched by time. When you cycle between the coniferous trees and the undergrowth, you immediately notice the effect of the tranquility on the estate. Various bird species breed in the area. The nuthatch, the woodlark, the green woodpecker, the sparrowhawk, the nightjar and the green, black and spotted woodpecker are just a few examples of the feathered animals that nest in the trees, but on the ground foxes scavenge, rabbits hop and deer and roe deer graze. Especially around dusk there is a good chance of being surprised and coming face to face with the wildlife in the area.
