Bicycle route Elspeet, Het Loo and Hunneschans

With this route, you will discover the Kroondomein Het Loo, one of the largest forests in the Netherlands. Cycling along quiet paths, you will enjoy the natural beauty to the fullest. Just like Queen Wilhelmina, who loved to venture out into this area with her mobile painting studio to capture the surroundings on canvas. On the edge of the forest, you will pass the Wenumse Molen, a beautiful fourteenth-century watermill on the Wenumse Beek. It has served as a grain mill, but also as a copper mill. Further on stands Het Loo Palace, built in 1686. Just before junction 2, you will pass a Hunneschans. This ring fort was built in the tenth century and is one of the most important archaeological monuments in the Netherlands. The route ends at Hotel & Inn Herberg De Zwaan Elspeet.
