Description
You follow the banks and foothills of the IJssel for miles and get to know the river from up close. You can also see the nineteen polder windmills of Kinderdijk. You start the cycle route in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht at the parking lot. Get on your bike and explore the banks of the IJssel. Then it's time to cycle towards Kinderdijk, a mill corridor that has been on the World Heritage List since 1997. Because of the special appearance, the area attracts many tourists. Kinderdijk's 19 windmills symbolize the way in which the Netherlands deals with water.
