Along the Lek you cycle over car-free dikes through the polders. A route on which you will encounter many sights, such as the gems Vianen and Ameide.
Picturesque Vianen
Here you will see many centuries-old monuments, such as the fifteenth-century town hall. The Dutch Reformed Church is also beautiful. In the countryside you drive along the pristine floodplains of the Lek. Get some fresh air while enjoying the natural beauty. Ameide still has a historic appearance, including the fifteenth-century church.
Green Heart
Further on you cycle through Nieuwpoort, a fortified town that is part of the Old Dutch Waterline. You can cross the Lek by ferry. De Wielewaal Nature Museum is a nice stop. Here you will learn more about nature in the Groene Hart. You drive many kilometers over the dike along the Lek, on your left you look out over the vast polders of the Lopikerwaard. In Lopikerkapel you can still see a beautiful white church from the fifteenth century.
