Tour of Grolloo and Orvelte

You start at Holiday Park Diana Heide. This route takes you through the Heart of Drenthe and through Orvelte and Grolloo. The Heart of Drenthe is a contiguous nature reserve of more than 5000 hectares where you sometimes get the feeling of cycling through the wilderness. You cycle through a mosaic of forests, heathlands and capricious streams. In Drenthe it is still traditionally quiet! Grolloo is a beautiful esdorp, where you can admire some beautiful Saxon farms. The more than a thousand year old Orvelte is home to many historical sights. It is not without reason that it scores high on lists of the most beautiful Dutch villages. In a number of old buildings you can see - sometimes for a fee - how, for example, sawyers, blacksmiths and glassblowers lived and worked in the past. Extra nice: Orvelte is car-free!
