Description
In Breukelen you pick up the path that runs along the meandering Stichtse Vecht. From the saddle you have a beautiful view over the meadows. You also pass some beautiful country houses, such as Weerestein that originally dates from 1705. Further on the cycle path leads you through the Loosdrechtse Plassen. Here you have beautiful views over the water, you also see some beautiful old farms. Just before Overmeer you pass De Nes. Once there was an island in this lake on which a country estate stood from 1687 to 1827. In the course of the twentieth century the island disappeared due to sand extraction. You cycle along the Ankeveense Plassen, at Restaurant 1244 you can get off for a pit stop. Along the 's-Graveland estates and along the Loosdrechtse Plassen you cycle back to Breukelen.
