Leuvenumse Bos, Hulshorsterheide and Elspeetse Heide

Elspeetse Heide
Your route starts at Camping Kostverloren. Via the Belvederebos you drive to the rolling Elspeetse Heide, where you enjoy beautiful views. This area is one of the few heathlands that are still maintained by grazing, the sheep here are inextricably linked to nature. The shepherd walks around with the sheep every day, you might even meet him!

Hulshorsterheide
The Leuvenumse Bos is a varied deciduous and coniferous forest that consists of four sub-areas, each with its own flora and fauna. A large drifting sand plain with high sand dunes is one of them: this is the Hulshorsterheide. You also cycle a long way through the woods, pay close attention because there is a lot of wildlife here; from boars to roe deer and red deer. To keep these populations healthy, wildlife bridges have been constructed and dead wood is left behind.
