Epe, Gelderland, The Netherlands
Cycling route: 115556
Provided by: route.nl
If you want to take a bike ride without cities on your route, you can hop on the saddle just outside Epe. For a day on the Veluwe, of course.
Estate
The Veluwe not only consists of primeval forests, you also drive across estates. Such as Tongeren, one of the largest private estates in the Netherlands. Here you drive through an old, small-scale cultural landscape and forests. In this sparsely populated part of the Veluwe it can still be old-fashioned quiet! You then also drive through the Vierhoutense Heide Estate, where you will mainly find fragrant conifers and a tuft of the heather that once covered this area.
Gelderland Valley
You drive for a while on the edge of the Veluwe and Gelderse Vallei. Enjoy the panoramic views and the beautiful, characteristic old farms that you see here. Finally, you drive through the Eperholt: a relatively young reclamation forest that consists of a mix of coniferous and deciduous trees.
