Description
Would you like to immerse yourself in nature? Then the vast forests of the Veluwe will soon be on your route. During this tour you also drive over the Elspeetse Heide. This area is a remnant of the gigantic heathland that once stretched across the Veluwe. A history that only becomes more impressive when you know that there are ancient burial mounds here. At Elspeet there is a sheepfold where a herd of Veluwe Heide sheep can find shelter after a day of grazing. Further on you will pass De Hoop, a beautiful flour mill from 1894. The Staverden estate was built centuries ago as the beginning of a city. That plan fell through, so that Staverden is now the smallest town with city rights in the Benelux. During the route you will pass Bakery and lunchroom Unique, where you can enjoy a delicious snack and drink.
