If you want to cycle the route, but you do not have a bicycle at hand, you can of course also rent it in Zandvoort aan Zee at Behind the Beach Bike Rentals at Haltestraat 51. This route starts at VVV Zandvoort, they will tell you the fun and surprising places of Zandvoort and surroundings. These are definitely worth getting off the bike for a while. Experience something unique, discover nature, let yourself be pampered culinary and above all ... enjoy. Safe and trusted on the road! You cycle from Zandvoort aan Zee along the coast towards the south. With the coastline of the North Sea on your right and the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen on your left, you cycle through an area of unparalleled natural beauty. The Zandvoort Water Tower (Thorbeckestraat) is one of the most famous sights of Zandvoort aan Zee. The original tower dates from the early 20th century. During the Second World War, this tower was blown up and then rebuilt in 1949. The Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen is the largest nature reserve on the Dutch coast and has been filtering rainwater for Amsterdam since the 19th century. Although it is only allowed to enter these dunes on foot, you can also enjoy nature from the cycle paths around the park. After about 11 kilometers you turn towards the Bollenstreek. Especially in the spring you will be amazed at the color splendor of the wide bulb fields. So don't forget to bring a camera, because you won't get enough of this. Via small villages such as De Zilk and Vogelenzang, you continue your way through the bulb fields towards Aerdenhout. Once you have arrived at the Zandvoorterweg, you set course towards the starting point. Once back in Zandvoort aan Zee, we advise you to take a break at Cafe Koper where you can drink a free cup of coffee or tea when eating lunch. At Cafe Koper you can enjoy a drink or snack, outside on the heated terrace or inside, in the center of Zandvoort aan Zee! You cycle directly on the boulevard to Bloemendaal aan Zee. This second part of the route takes you along the southern part of the Zuid-Kennemerpark National Park. This area, Het Kraansvlak, is bordered on the north side by the Kennemer dunes and on the south side by the Zandvoort - Haarlem railway line. The Kraansvlak borders on the west side of the car circuit of Zandvoort aan Zee. From Bloemendaal aan Zee (junction 18) you cycle on the Zeeweg through the wooded area towards Overveen. Just past the De Zandwaaier visitor center you turn off to junction 21. From here you continue your route on the Visserspad along the southern edge of Het Kraansvlak to the center of Zandvoort aan Zee. Feel like being active? = Looking forward to Zandvoort!
