Your cycling route starts at Herberg de Brabantse Kluis. From here you will discover De Stippelberg. The area takes its name from the old drifting dunes that mark the landscape like dots. At the end of the nineteenth century, the area consisted mainly of heath, but between 1893 and 1935, heath and broom partly made way for Douglas fir and Japanese larch. Native tree species are also given space to germinate. Old, dead trees are left behind. To prevent the heathland from gaining ground again and the tough grasses and shrubs from pushing back the forests, Scottish Highlanders graze the Stippelberg. Bats, squirrels, polecats, deer, hares and foxes hide among the trees, and even the badger made its debut on the Stippelberg in 1998.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
