From Overdiepse polder to's Gravenmoer

The Overdiepse Polder is located between Geertruidenberg and the Waalwijk: an area consisting of a polder and a floodplain, which must protect the villages and towns along the Bergsche Maas against rising water. The polder is almost 900 football fields in size and covers an area of 180 hectares. Dairy and arable farms are located in the polder, but three parts have also been designated as future nature reserves. The channels serve as a spawning ground for fish and reed land and forest will attract reed birds, but also small mammals such as the lake bat, the water shrew and beaver. Three kilometers after the starting point of the route you will come across the D\\\'Ontirede mill. De Onmoede is a round stone flour mill that was built in 1890. The Ontired was built as a windmill, but soon turned to motor power. The mill fell into disrepair before the Second World War, but was dealt a blow when a grenade exploded in it in 1944. Only decades later was the mill restored. Now he grinds on a voluntary basis.
